E-portfolios Business Activity Objectives

• To establish understanding of the standards requirements to enable e-portfolios to effectively support learner transitions nationally.
• To reach agreements between jurisdictions and with other sectors, on standards, business rules and policy to enable a national infrastructure to operate and to provide guidelines for developers of e-portfolio tools and applications.
• To establish an operating infrastructure which supports individual state and territory requirements while delivering national portability and verifiability of learner information.

2011 Deliverables

• Trialling and finalising national guidelines for VET learner privacy and storage capacity for VET e-portfolio systems
• Targeted engagement of key jurisdictional decision makers to gain national support for the development of VET electronic lifelong learner records
• Consultation with a reference group of key stakeholders to guide the implementation and dissemination of the VET E-portfolio Roadmap.
• Implementation and embedding the use of e-portfolios through trials of seed funding.

• National and cross-sectoral agreement on and engagement with e-portfolio standards, policy and business rules achieved.
• Operating national infrastructure in which state and territory tools for managing learner information can deliver local requirements while supporting national coverage.
