2007 Projects
Project outline: E-standard...
The E-standards for Training Project is a key driver for the development of a national VET e-learning infrastructure capable of meeting current and projected demands on the VET system.
In 2007, the project will continue to promote standards to underpin interoperable, flexible and scalable systems for development, distribution and exchange of e-learning resources. Endorsed standards will be maintained and uptake promoted, with monitoring of mainstream adoption in VET systems. Responsibility for Vetadata, the training sector's metadata application profile, will remain a key area. In addition, the project will support current Framework priorities by researching technical standards and protocols to support innovation in areas such as online assessment, portability of qualifications and competencies, social computing and revised accessibility guidelines.
The E-standards for Training Project will work to strengthen the relationships between national and state / territory e-learning systems, and build collaboration with other education sectors. Its work will draw on and feed into the work of other Framework projects, national initiatives and international standards developments.
The integrity of the process and the quality of outputs will be assured by the continued work of the E-standards Expert Group, comprising representatives from all jurisdictions, key national initiatives and relevant cross-sectoral groups.
