These series of online PD sessions were run during September using the

What: Ever wondered what all the fuss was about with wiki and blogs? Want to try them for yourself?
This session is aimed to get you started using wikis and blogs in your teaching and to support students' learning. Understand
the basics, start a wiki or blog, and apply it to a teaching strategy or learning situation.

Who: Marg O'Connell is an educational designer and e-learning strategist at the Canberra Institute of Technology.
Marg has a keen
interest in the use of social web tools and services and is exploring their impact on learning and contemporary learners in
the VET context. Marg has worked in the community education and university sectors and was a Flexible Learning Leader in 2002.
She is currently undertaking a Master of Education at University of Technology, Sydney.

What: Jo Kay will provide an overview of the educational projects currently happening in Second Life - an online
3D virtual world which is being used by thousands of educators and their students from around the world. During
the session, Jo will introduce participants to the main characteristics of Second Life, before providing a number of case
studies relevant to educators who are interested in exploring this new and emerging environment for teaching an learning.
Who: Jo Kay is a freelance geek, web designer, artist and facilitator based in Wollongong, NSW. She has broad experience in educational
technology, web development and virtual worlds. In recent years she has worked for a number of organizations - supporting
the research and implementation of new and innovative technologies for teaching and learning and online community building.
Her current research is around virtual worlds, with a particular focus on Second Life and the possibilities that it offers
for education, communication and collaboration.

Who:
Kerry Trabinger has been involved in online Learning since 1998, initially as an online tutor for Qantas College and then as an online lecturer
with the Department of Tourism Studies at the CIT. In 2001 Kerry moved into online course design and has developed many successful
online subjects incorporating toolboxes and e-Kits. Kerry has completed a Masters of Professional Education and Training with
Deakin University with a focus on flexible and online delivery and has presented at many conferences across Australia and
internationally. Kerry was a 2004 Australian Flexible Learning Leader. Kerry is the Flexible and e-Learning Training Manager
for the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at the Canberra Institute of Technology and is also working two days a week
as Facilitator of the E-Learning Networks Community Forum.
Sue McShane has worked as a casual teacher with the CIT in the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management since 2001. For the past three years Sue has taught online, incorporating new technologies in her teaching such as Wikis and the use of del.icio.us. Sue is currently compiling 'A taste of learning objects' as a portal from the E-learning for Industry website. This portal will enable RTOs and e-learning developers to showcase a learning object, for business and industry to explore. This portal will be launched at the industry showcase in late November 2007.
Jyothi Jayaram has been involved in Framework projects since 2000. Jyothi worked on the prestigious Flexible Learning Leaders project in the main and also provided support to Legal Issues in Flexible Learning and ACT LearnScope projects. Currently Jyothi is working on the E-learning Networks Project in maintaining the project's website, community forum and online events platform. Jyothi provides technical support especially with Elluminate virtual classroom software and high level admin support to the project. Jyothi also reports and monitors the Strategic and National Projects finances.

If you answered yes to any of these questions you may find it useful to join Coach Carole in an exploration of these popular
e-tools and learn some tips on managing them along the way. Come along and immerse yourself in the latest phenomenon of ispaces
and third places!
Who: Carole is a virtual e-learning consultant and as 'Coach Carole' has an ongoing role in mentoring e-learning
online networks funded under the E-learning Networks Project. She regularly conducts face-to-face digital storytelling, portfolio,
personal learning spaces and network building workshops; and provides PD on 'implementing e-learning creatively online' using
Moodle and a variety of web conferencing platforms.

What: Digistories are great for telling personal stories and reflecting on experiences. eBooks are handy for reading
on the go, they are light, easy to create and share with friends.
Who: Sally is a passionate participant in the process of life long learning, she experienced in online and mobile
learning from
both the learner's and the teacher's perspective. She has worked in adult education for 18 years as a teacher,
education designer and program manger.

What: Predictions are that the true potential of online video will be unlocked in 2007. The driving force for the rise of online video has been user-generated content hosted free on sites like YouTube and Google Video.
The session will explore online video and video podcasting, tools for creating videos and how you can use video in e-learning.

Who: Sue Waters, an Aquaculture Lecturer from Challenger TAFE, has challenged the e-learning boundaries and is now
actively engaging
in the world of mobile learning (m-Learning) and podcasting. Sue's inquisitive nature in combination with her
'trial by practice' approach has made her a leading innovator in this field. Sue is well known for her video
podcasts.
