Products and Services: Access and Equity in Online Learning

About

Access and Equity report

Access and Equity in Online Learning identifies the needs of target equity groups in elearning. It also focuses on guiding the equitable design and delivery of elearning for all learners.

A range of products have been developed by the
Australian Flexible Learning Framework to assist
registered training organisations to address the needs of target equity groups.

These products include a range of literature reviews, research reports and guidelines to plan and implement accessible elearning.

These products address the needs of the following learners:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners
  • learners with disabilities
  • learners with English literacy needs
  • rural and remote learners
  • women in vocational education and training (VET)
  • isolated metropolitan learners.

Included in the product are a range of guidelines, dedicated to ensuring that all learners have a genuine opportunity to access and benefit from elearning.


How it can help you

Each product provides direction as to the cultural, environmental and educational needs you should consider when applying elearning to VET.

The products can help you to:

  • ensure that your individual products and services are directed towards best practice in teaching and learning
  • provide learning opportunities for those who may previously have had difficulty accessing elearning
  • meet Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) requirements.

Other resources

The Access and Equity in e-Learning project was conducted between 2000 and 2002. The project staff carried out research, produced a range of guidelines, checklists and reports and conducted workshops to promote the application of the resources developed.
