Three new trials have been awarded a total of $45,000 to explore key emerging technologies for vocational education and training (VET).

Funded and supported by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) and led by registered training organisations (RTOs), the trials will help the VET system to adopt and use new technologies by highlighting their benefits, risks and future development needs.

Registered training organisations (RTOs) can now apply for a share of $100,000 to trial new technologies which have the potential to deliver substantial benefits to the national training system.

A new RFID (radio frequency identification) software program designed specifically for PDAs (personal digital assistants) is now available for FREE online.

The software, which is a working framework for using RFID technology on a PDA, fills a market gap as RFID software programs currently available off-the-shelf are designed solely for pocket laptops.
