Investment in the National Vocational Education and Training E-learning Strategy for 2012-2015 will stimulate innovative approaches to increasing participation in training and improve the skill levels of the Australian workforce.

Funding of $11.5m has been approved for the Strategy in 2011/12 by the Ministerial Council on Tertiary Education and Training for programs:

A project to use GPS and web-enabled mobile phones to engage, teach and assess three groups of vocational students

This pilot will consist of three location-based 'treasure hunts' that will teach students via internet and GPS-enabled mobile phones. GPS and assesment functionality will be powered by a customised Learning Management System (Push LMS: http://pushdevelopment.blogspot.com/) developed by the project team:
